Tapps is a Canadian Euro disco/Hi-NRG musical group formed in Toronto in 1983.
Barbara Doust is a Canadian singer and songwriter. She was the original lead vocalist for Tapps, one of Canada’s Eurodance/Hi-NRG recording acts. Doust’s voice graces all of Tapps’ early recordings, including the top-selling single "My Forbidden Lover". This song was one of the most successful dance records in Canadian history, charting at #1 for ten weeks with TOPA, Canada's most influential record pool. "My Forbidden Lover" went on to become one of the best-selling Hi-NRG records worldwide, reaching the #2 spot single in Holland on the dance chart. Doust was on Billboard magazine's #5 spot in London.
