Heinrich Wilhelm "Heinz" Rühmann (March 7, 1902 – October 3, 1994) was a German film actor. He is one of the most famous and popular German actors of the 20th Century and is considered a German film legend. Rühmann is best-known for his comedic roles in films like Die Feuerzangenbowle (1944), Der Hauptmann von Köpenick (1956), but he also played serious roles like in It Happened in Broad Daylight (1958). A popular but unpolitical actor during the Third Reich, his only Hollywood movie was his role as a German Jew in Ship of Fools.
