Tha Chill (born Vernon Johnson in Compton, California 1970) is a co-founder of the Compton based hip hop group, Compton's Most Wanted, along with the frontman MC Eiht. During his childhood, Chill dropped out of highschool and hooked up with the neighbourhood MC Eiht forming the group. Chill has also produced several albums, including The Hard Way released in 2004 by the Long Beach based supergroup, 213. He took only part on the debut album of Compton's Most Wanted, It's a Compton Thang, as the group disbanded after he was sentenced to three years imprisonment. However, he was subsequently a featured performer on the reunion album, Represent. Tha Chill was set to release his debut solo album, Chill Factor in 2008. Tha Chill is currently releasing music through B.J.I./Hoopla Media/LRT Music/Universal Records. Tha Chill is part of the hip hop supergroup called "1st Generation" with Kurupt, Jayo Felony, King T, DJ Battlecat, MC Eiht and Sir Jinx.
