Charles Wingate (born May 21, 1978), better known by his stage name Max B, is an American hip hop recording artist from Harlem, New York City, New York. In 2006, he signed a record deal with his friend and fellow Harlem-based rapper Jim Jones' ByrdGang Records, however after differences which led to a feud, Max B parted ways with Jones in 2008. In 2009, Max B began serving a 75-year prison sentence for charges of conspiracy to armed robbery, kidnapping, aggravated assault, and murder. In 2010, he was able to secure a deal with Amalgam Digital, to release his solo debut album Vigilante Season (2011).
