The Star Onions is a band of Japanese video game music composers from Square Enix, including Naoshi Mizuta, Kumi Tanioka and Hidenori Iwasaki. They first appeared in September 2004 during a Final Fantasy XI show. Their first album, consisting entirely of newly arranged versions of tracks from the Final Fantasy XI Soundtrack, entitled Music from the Other Side of Vana'diel, was published in August 24, 2005.

Their name seems to come from the Star Onion Brigade, a group of child NPCs belonging to the fictional city of Windurst, which are involved in some quests from the MMORPG Final Fantasy XI.
