The term rock can be highly subjective when it comes to music. The emergence of rock n roll in the fifties changed music forever. The roots of rock began with evolving rhythm and blues and country music. Artists such as Elvis Presley, Little Richard, and Bill Haley introduced rock to a global audience. In the mid sixties, the british invasion allowed rock to evolve even more. What was considered progressive then is now sometimes classified as retro, golden oldies, or classic. This era also gave us folk rock and singer songwriters. RadioIO has created a channel called 50's & 60's Rock hosted by Mike Roe. Listeners will hear specially chosen hand selected tracks. Music fans can relive the days of AM radio when popular DJs played vinyl 45 records. Many previously unavailable releases that can now be found on greatest hits compilations, reissues, and newly remastered albums are featured. Listeners will also be treated to some collectible and obscure vintage hard to find tracks. Music history nostalgia at its best.
